Critical reflection is at the heart of quality practice in early childhood education. It empowers educators to deepen their knowledge, recognise strengths in their work, and identify opportunities to improve. Reflection also enhances how we create meaningful opportunities for children’s learning, participation, and development (ACECQA, 2018).



Our 2026 Critical Reflection Journal – Transforming through Reflection has been thoughtfully designed to make this process practical and achievable for every educator. With gentle prompts, guiding questions, and space to record both strengths and challenges, the journal encourages honest and purposeful reflection.



This journal can be used by individual educators in their rooms, shared by room leaders and assistants, or brought to team meetings with educational leaders to strengthen whole-service reflective discussions.
